Die-plates
|
Die plates are used in the underwater pelletizing of polymer for making uniform
pellets.
Originally core jacket and heat exchanger type of die plates were used in
underwater pelletizing, but now a days mainly heat channel die plates are used.
To withstand the excessive wear of the rotating
knives for cutting the pellets
the die plate has a hard metal face. Although the hard metal can be small tiles
or nibs with the die hole, modern die plates have hard metal segments.
The hard metal of the segments is made of TiC or WC and bonded by a proprietary
process. The quality and stand out of the hardmetal is important for depending the
life of the die plate.
Please contact Mercatel in case you need a quotation for a new die plate,
replating (re-tiling) or re-grinding
of an existing die plate.
